A Devotion by Jack Manor

Thought: Don't make the mistake of treating salvation like an item of merchandise on a store shelf. Instead of money, some have wrongly used the sinner's prayer as currency to obtain salvation simply to escape hell, with no real concern for Jesus Christ. True salvation leads a person to live his or her life to please Christ in the power of Christ.
Verse: Jesus said, "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven" (Matthew 7:21).
Quote: "There remains for you nothing but the blackness of darkness forever, unless light from heaven visits you. You must have Christ or die [an eternal living death]." -- Charles Spurgeon
