A Devotion by Jack Manor

Thought: Have you ever felt like Gideon when God told him to lead Israel in battle against the Midianites? He told God he couldn't save Israel because he came from the smallest tribe of Israelites and was the weakest in his family. Next time the thought 'I just can't do it' fills your head remember: God can put glory in the ordinary!
Verse: "But (God) said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness'" (2 Corinthians 12:9).
Quote: "The men and women God has used have always lived with the reality that they are merely clay. When they saw Jesus Christ, they became unconscious of all they used to call their wisdom and strength. And rather than focus on their weakness, they made it their business to open wide for all his treasure. From this flowed the surpassing greatness of his power. (Thus, ordinary people) became vehicles for the extraordinary." -- Kent Hughes
