A Devotion by Jack Manor

Thought: A battle-proven soldier can sense the moment when his war turns in the direction of victory. So also, the Christian tastes the sweet savor of victory when his good fight of faith has sufficiently trained him so that, in any moment of stress or decision, his first thought is of Christ instead of self.
Verse: "Yet not my will, but yours be done" (Luke 22:42).
Quote: "Jesus was so oblivious of self that instead of his agony driving his blood to his heart to nourish himself, it drove his blood out of himself to bedew the earth." -- Charles Spurgeon
